Buscot Park (between Faringdon and Lechlade on A417) A guided walk in this wonderful parkland laid out mainly by Harold Peto in the 20th century for the First Lord Faringdon, grounds only £5, house and grounds £7.50 . 2nd - 6th June (Reading Tree Club) Isle of Wight Tour
Places to visit could include Exbury Gardens (on the way down, before taking the ferry from Lymington to Yarmouth); Afton Park, Carisbrooke Castle, Mottistone Manor, Osborne House, Ventnor Botanic Gardens. Thursday 5th June(Royal Botanic Gardens Kew)
Lecture at 7pm at the Jodrell Lecture Theatre Archie Miles' latest book, 'Hidden Trees of Britain' is the culmination of a personal odyssey to find the strangest, rarest, largest and most obscure trees and treescapes of Britain. In this lecture we'll hear the multitude of wonderful stories associated with these trees, also their historical, cultural and botanical significance in the nation's natural heritage.
